Wiltshire Council waste collections over Christmas

bin collections christmas 2016 to 2017

We've received a few enquiries from residents about Wiltshire Council's waste collections over Christmas. All the information is available on their website, but here's a summary:

  • Starting Monday 26th, all collections will be a day later than usual - including a collection on Saturday
  • Normal collection days apply from Monday 2nd January
  • There will be no green waste collection for these two weeks
  • If you pay to have your green waste collected, one Christmas tree per household will be collected

At the Christmas Lights Switch-on event on Friday, 18th November Mayor Cllr. Noel Barrett-Morton and Anne Crawley - our Citizen of the Year for 2016 - led the crowds who weren't daunted by the rain in the big count-down to turn on the lights.

Anne is the Chairman of Marlborough in Bloom and was nominated for all her hard work in the town's successful entry. More photos of the event are in our gallery.
