Notice of Election - East Ward

Would you like to stand for election as a Marlborough Town Councillor to represent the East Ward? 

All the information you need is given below. 

We draw your attention to the deadline date, and that papers must be submitted in person by appointment to Wiltshire Council Electoral Staff at the Chippenham offices.

A copy of the Notice will also be published on the Wiltshire Council website on 24 April 2023 at: https://elections.wiltshire.gov.uk/Home/Upcoming 

As you will see in the notice, Nomination Papers can be hand delivered only between the hours of 10am and 4pm from Tuesday 25 April until the statutory deadline of 4pm on Wednesday 3 May 2023 (excluding Saturday and Sunday and Bank Holidays).   The venue for delivery of Nomination Papers will be: Wiltshire Council, Electoral Services, Monkton Park Chippenham Wiltshire SN15 1ER (to the Electoral Services Staff only, not Reception Staff).  

Nomination Papers are available to download from the Electoral Commission website at:  https://www.electoralcommission.org.uk/i-am-a/candidate-or-agent/parish-council-elections-england

Candidates can make an appointment to submit their Nomination Papers by using the online booking system:  https://ilforms.wiltshire.gov.uk/BookingsElectionCandidateSlot/Index.  Alternatively, Candidates can also contact the Electoral Services Team on 0300 456 0112.

What happens next?

Assuming that there will be candidates contesting for election, a Statement of Persons Nominated will be published by Wiltshire Council with a provisional Polling Day of 1 June 2023
