Magna Carta Celebrations

Our Town Mayor, Councillor Margaret Rose, was honoured to be asked to lead Marlborough in a parade in Salisbury, home of one of the original Magna Carta documents, at an event on Monday 15th June to celebrate the 800th anniversary of its sealing. It was a stunning display featuring 18 larger than life rebel Barons representing Wiltshire's communities. Young people played an enormous part in the pageant with Scouts marching behind an imaginative banner and alongside Marlborough's Baron which had been designed by students at St John's Academy and was magnificent. Cllr. Rose said: "I was very proud to represent Marlborough as their Mayor and be part of this historic event. More in the Mayor's Blog and on Wiltshire
