More History in the Making as Commonwealth Flies High

On Monday 9th March more than 730 Commonwealth Flags were raised in locations throughout the United Kingdom, Channel Islands, Isle of Man, UK Overseas Territories, and Commonwealth Countries in celebration of Commonwealth Day 2015.

A number of towns in Wiltshire participated in flying a Commonwealth Flag including Marlborough Town Council. A message from Her Majesty the Queen and one from His Excellency Kamalesh Sharma, Secretary-General of the Commonwealth as well as a specially written Commonwealth Affirmation was read out by Town Mayor, Cllr Marian Hannaford-Dobson before the flag was raised at the Town Hall.
