Notification of decision regarding the application for designation of Marlborough Neighbourhood Area

26 November 2020

The Designation of Marlborough Neighbourhood Area has been approved in accordance with section 61G of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 as amended for the purposes of Neighbourhood Planning and Part 2 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 as amended 2016.

A copy of the decision notice including a map which identifies the area is available here.

 

The decision will be available to view on Wiltshire Council’s neighbourhood planning webpage via: http://www.wiltshire.gov.uk/planning-neighbourhood-latest-news in due course.

Preshute Parish

Preshute Parish Council has decided to withdraw from the Marlborough Area Neighbourhood Plan.  

Whilst members of the Steering Group are disappointed that this decision has been taken, they are now working to re-designate the neighbourhood area to include Marlborough, Mildenhall and Savernake. 

The process will continue with a formal public consultation under Regulation 14 taking place in the coming weeks.

The Marlborough Area Neighbourhood Plan Consultation results are out!

Your feedback about affordable housing, potential development sites, important green spaces and community facilities in Marlborough and Manton, Mildenhall, Preshute and Savernake has been collated and set out in a report which can be pdfviewed here.  This will all be taken into consideration now that the Plan is being drafted ready for the official consultation early in the new year.

Mildenhall Village Hall - Wed 24 July - 6pm-8pm

Town Centre Survey

We undertook a Benchmarking review of the town centre last year - thank you to everyone who took the time to complete it. You can read the final report here.

Benchmarking has been conducted in over 350 locations and measures performance against key indicators such as retail offer, footfall, shoppers origin, business performance and car parking. The results are used for developing regeneration projects, attracting funding, measuring the impact of events and festivals, creating town centre partnerships, planning projects and inward investment - in this case part of the overall evidence gathering to help us complete our Neighbourhood Plan.
