Mayor Making May 2024
On Monday, 13 May at the Annual Town Council Meeting (more commonly known as Mayor Making) Councillor Kym-Marie Cleasby was elected Town Mayor for the 2024-25 municipal year and Councillor Emily Trow was elected Deputy Mayor. Retiring Town Mayor, Councillor Nicholas Fogg, handed over the robe to Councillor Cleasby after his third term in the office.
The formal ceremony was witnessed by guest of honour Deputy Lieutenant Mrs Rachel Gowshall JP, former Mayors, family, friends, invited guests and partners of the Town Council. Councillor Cleasby's Mayoral charities are the Jubilee Centre and Love Marlborough Kids Meals.
We hope you'll join us in thanking Councillor Fogg for his long and dedicated service, and in welcoming Marlborough's new Mayor and Deputy Mayor and wishing them both a fruitful and successful year in office.
After the formal ceremony, guests were invited to the Assembly Room where the Town Crier gave a shout for the new Mayor followed by a toast: "God Save The King". Guests then enjoyed refreshments and canapes.
