IN ACCORDANCE with Sect ion 21 of the Town Police Clauses Act 1847, which section gives Wiltshire C ouncil (“the Council”) the power to make an Order for roads within its admi nistrative area to be closed temporarily to all vehicular traffic (and for alternative routes to be observed) for the purposes of preventing obstructi on.

T he Council HEREBY ORDERS< /p>

On:         &nbs p;        Friday 18th No vember 2022 between the hours of 17.00 and&n bsp;20.00

 Purpose:         Christmas Lights Switch-On Event

 That the following roads and streets in the to wn of Marlborough are to be closed (save in any case of emergency) to all vehicular traffic:

  1. A4 (Part) High Street; fro m its junction with A345 Pewsey Road to its junction with New Road.< /li>
  1. C18 Kingsbury Street (Part); from its junction with High Street to its junction with Silverl ess Street.
  1. A4 (Part) New Road; from its junction with High Street to its junction with London Road.

Nothing in this Order shall prevent vehicles from proceeding in the sai d lengths of road when being used in connection with the event stated above .
