Platinum Jubilee High Street Party

Please join us for the Platinum Jubilee High Street Party on Thursday, 2nd June 2022 when Marlborough will be fit for a Queen!
With a road closure in place our fabulously wide High Street will be transformed into a party zone with a stage, picket fencing, bunting, and tables and chairs set out for a traditional street party between 2pm and 5pm.
UPDATED 10 MAY: TABLES ARE NOW FULLY BOOKED, BUT YOU CAN CLICK THE LINK ABOVE TO BE ADDED TO A WAIT LIST.
If you no longer need your table please let us know! There will be space available in the picnic area for you to bring your own chairs so everyone can join in.
We will provide 6ft tables with 4 chairs at each - you can fit in a couple more if you want to bring them yourself. You can reserve up to 4 tables in one booking if you'd like to book a group of tables to keep family or friends together. The party starts at 2pm. We'll set out the furniture ready for you to arrive from 1pm to decorate your table and set out your party food so you'll be settled in and ready to go by the time it starts.
If you don’t want to book a party table there will also be an area set aside for people to bring their own chairs to soak up the atmosphere of the event (first come first served, no need to book).
The party starts at 2pm: BBC Radio Wiltshire will be on the big stage with Karen Gardner as our compere for the afternoon with live music - original West Coast acoustic rock from Marcella and vintage blues with a hard edge groove from Barrelhouse.
If you've never been on to the balcony of the Town Hall, now is your opportunity to get a photo of this unique High Street event. We'll be offering balcony selfies for £1 with all proceeds going to the Mayor's charities.
Street entertainers will tour the tables to enchant young and old: for the little ones, there will be face painting and balloon modelling too.
Every child can be king or queen for the day, with activities in the Town Hall for them to make their own crown (free of charge).
There will be a fancy dress parade setting off at 3pm so your children can really get into the party spirit! They could dress as a favourite book character, someone from history, a favourite animal or even a train - the sky's the limit! Click here to download an entry form for the fancy dress parade, or pick up a paper entry form from the Town Council office at 5 High Street.
Keep an eye on our website and social media for the full programme nearer the time - we hope you'll join us to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee in true Marlborough style.
Please note the High Street will be closed to vehicles between 10am and 7pm
