Mayor's Charity Concert

Friday, 23rd September 2016

St Peters-squareSt Peter's Church was the glorious setting for our Charity Concert in aid of Wiltshire Air Ambulance and Swift Medics with members of Marlborough Concert Orchestra playing music from Mozart, Saint-Saens and the wonderful Trout Quintet by Schubert.

The concert was well attended and very much enjoyed by everyone. I would like to thank Rob Napier and his fellow musicians for their superb rendition of the pieces and their generosity in performing for the charities. Also to David du Croz and his fellow Trustees for allowing us to use St Peters (David's help and advice was invaluable). Dr Nick Maurice provided help and the wisdom of his experience too.

Finally, the volunteers from Wiltshire Air Ambulance and Swift Medics who attended on the night, not to forget former Mayor Robin Notton and his wife Anne who manned the door and poured the wine at the interval. Thanks to you all.

There was only one 'downside' to the whole event - washing up approx. 100 glasses on the following morning!
