Marlborough’s New Town Council
At the Annual Meeting of the Town Council on Monday, 13th May, new Councillors voted in Councillor Guy Loosmore as Marlborough’s 518th Mayor with Councillor Mrs Marian Hannaford Dobson as the Deputy Mayor. Following an address by outgoing Mayor, Mrs Edwina Fogg, who is stepping down from the Council, Councillor Loosmore set out his aspirations for his Mayoral year. He aims to make Marlborough’s community his focus with an emphasis on youth as well as working towards important land marks such as the coming World War 1 commemorations. The Mayor has chosen Marlborough and District Dyslexia Association and Hope for Tomorrow, which operates mobile chemotherapy units, as his chosen charities. Both provide Marlborough with much needed services.
The Council meets on Monday, 20th May for the first Full Town Council meeting of a 4 year term of office.
