Councillor Abi Beaumont
Meet your new CouncillorOn 4 July the country elected a new Prime Minister and Marlborough elected a new Town Councillor for the West Ward - Abi Beaumont.
On Monday, 29 July Abi met with Richard Spencer-Williams, Marlborough's Town Clerk, to sign her Declaration of Acceptance of Office and attended her first meeting, a Planning Committee, later that evening.
Abi grew up in Wiltshire and, with the exception of a few periods living overseas, has lived in the centre of Marlborough for 17 years having previously lived at Burbage. Abi and her husband have three almost grown children, all schooled locally.
Abi is an accountant at an international company and hopes to use her business experience to help with Council decisions. She has been involved in the NCT, Parent Teacher Associations and local sports clubs, and we are sure her enthusiastic and friendly approach to community activities will be an asset to Marlborough.
