Notice of Vacancies in Office of Councillor

Marlborough Town Council has a vacancy for a Councillor in each Marlborough Ward - Marlborough East and Marlborough West.

As you will see in the formal notices, if TEN electors from the appropriate ward contact the Returning Officer no later than 16 June an election will be called not later than 18 August, otherwise the vacancy will be filled by co-option as soon as possible.  This applies to each vacancy separately.

Anyone can do this in writing or you might like to use a form to request an election.  The format is not prescribed by law specifically, but is a template that is provided to ensure that all the relevant information is recorded in a single place. Any requests for election must be returned to the Returning Officer at Wiltshire Council by the deadline given on the notice of vacancy.  Please ensure that any requests are addressed to: Terence Herbert, Returning Officer, Wiltshire Council, County Hall, Care Of The Electoral Services Team, Bythesea Road, Trowbridge, Wiltshire BA14 8JN
