The consultation runs until 5 July - you can find details at https://www.wiltshire.gov.uk/tro-consultation-B3052-marlborough
Following a successful Taking Action on School Journeys bid by St Mary’s Primary School, the proposed signal controlled crossing on George Lane, Marlborough is being progressed. The proposed crossing is currently being advertised in line with the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The consultation period is open until the 5th July and allows all interested parties to comment on the proposal. There are notices on George Lane, in the Gazette and Herald and on the Wiltshire Council website here : https://www.wiltshire.gov.uk/tro-consultation-B3052-marlborough. Interested parties may comment in support or opposition to the proposal.
Comments made during the consultation period will be collated and if objections are received, the Cabinet Member for Highways, Transport and Waste will consider these and prepare a report outlining the decision as to whether or not to proceed with implementation. If there are no objections, it is intended to begin installation of the crossing on the 19th July 2021. The construction period is scheduled to last 2 weeks with the construction area on George Lane closed to traffic during that time (access will be retained to properties within the closure).
