Grant for the Bobby Van Trust

Bobby van

On Thursday 16th March, our Mayor handed over a cheque for £350 to the Wiltshire Bobby Van Trust. This was a grant from the Council's Small Grants Scheme towards the Trust which provides free home security for the elderly, vunerable and disadvantaged people throughout Wiltshire. Over the last year, 68 homes in Marlborough have been secured, over twice the number the previous year.  Pro-active, preventative visits have also increased, from 26 to 49.  The grant is being ring fenced for Marlborough to provided security equipment at an average cost of £26.50 per home.  Doug Batchelor received the cheque on behalf of the charity.  More information is available at: http://www.wiltshirebobbyvan.org.uk/
