SUMMARY:Great Green Bedwyn rain gardens celebration
LOCATION:Frog Ln\, Great Bedwyn\, Marlborough SN8 3PD
DESCRIPTION:Great Green Bedwyn rain gardens celebration\n12th June, 6.45pm at Great Bed
wyn Village Hall\n \nThere is more information about the event and ticket b
 ooking here (https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/great-bedwyn-rain-gardens-proje
ct-celebration-tickets-890976955057) \n\nThe charity Action for the River K
ennet worked with the community group Great Green Bedwyn to create rain gar
dens in the village over the past year. It is the first project of its kind
in the UK working with individual homeowners. Over 25 homeowners took part
and now have rain gardens, rain planters and water butts. The school and d
octor surgery have fantastic rain gardens and rain planters too.\nThe proje
ct has reduced water entering the sewage system from over 2,000 square metr
es of roof. This helps reduce river pollution, reduces flooding, and create
s a more biodiverse and beautiful village. \nWe’ll be sharing project succe
sses and the lessons learnt at this free event.\nSome of the gardens includ
ed will be open for Great Bedwyn Open Gardens on 16th June 1pm to 5pm too.\
