SUMMARY:Community tree pruning
DESCRIPTION:Transition Marlborough and Marlborough Community Orchard invite you to the 
 upcoming pruning events at the community orchard sites.\nWe have two events
  planned. The first will take place on the 8th of August starting at the Di
 amond Jubilee Plantation, on the common, just below the rugby club, moving 
 on to Roger’s Meadow if we have time. The second will take place on the 15t
 h of August starting in Wye House Garden, then moving on to the trees in Wa
 itrose car park as well as those in Priory Gardens, St Mary’s and St Peter’
 s churchyards. We intend to prune the damson and plums which can only be do
 ne at this time of year. As well as this we will give any apple trees that 
 need it a summer prune, as well as carry out some weeding and give the tree
 s some t.l.c.\nBoth events will start at 0930 and we hope to finish by arou
 nd 1230.You can join us for as long as you are able, all help is much appre
 ciated. If you are unable to attend at the start you are most welcome to ca
 ll 07771 937183 to find out where we are. \nThese events are open to all al
 though children under 18 need to be accompanied by an adult. No experience 
 is needed as we will have a  professional horticulturist with us who can sh
 ow newcomers how to prune fruit trees’ something which may be of use in one
 ’s own garden If you do attend and you have them, can you please bring seca
 teurs, loppers and/or long handled pruners, a trowel or small fork as well 
 as a kneeler would be useful for weeding around the fruit trees.\n
