Marlborough Choral Society will be performing a lovely programme of English music including  works by Wesley, Elgar, Vaughan Williams (“Five Mystical Songs”), Mendelssohn (“Hear my Prayer”) and Handel (movements from “Messiah” appropriate for the Easter period including the Hallelujah chorus). The two German composers were closely associated with the country- the Mendelssohn was first performed in London.
