Opened in 1853 and closed in 1924, the ‘Old Graveyard’ is the final resting place for many of Marlborough’s residents.

Join Kim Wakeham on a tour of the Graveyard and find out more about the people who are buried there including their trades, religion, beliefs and social standing. Explore why the interior of the Graveyard looks like it does and discover the changes it has seen.

Kim Wakeham: is an archeologist and wrote her dissertation on the Marlborough Victorian Cemetery.  Kim grew up in Marlborough and after 3 decades living in Wales and London recently returned to her home town.

Tickets are strictly limited so book early and don’t miss this rare opportunity to find out about the fascinating history of Marlborough’s deceased residents!

Meet outside the Rugby Club at 2pm, as its March and could still be cold wrap up warm and please wear robust shoes, either trainers, walking boots or wellies if its wet – the ground can be uneven.  We will serve you hot drinks at the end of the walk and talk.
